This page provides summary information about local government finance for law enforcement in Oregon.
The United States Census Bureau conducts an extensive survey of government finances at the state, county, and municipal level (among others) every five years on years ending in "2" or "7." A less extensive sample of selected jurisdictions occurs annually. All counties, but only the municipalities for which sample data is available, are shown here. Only the census year data is available for counties not included in the annual sampling survey. Counties for which only census year data are available are displayed in the drop-down selection box below in upper- and lower-case characters. Counties for which survey year data are available are in all caps. Data displayed is for the local government's fiscal year, and generally for the year ending during the survey year.
Please note that amounts and categories displayed here may not match locally published budget documents due to differences in classifications and discrepancies in reporting. Actual expenditures may also vary considerably from budgeted amounts. Therefor, these data should only be used for very general comparative purposes, and if more accurate information is needed, refer to local budget authorities. Neither the Census Bureau, which collects and disseminates this information, nor the Criminal Justice Commission, can take responsibility for the accuracy of the data.
Further information on the Census Bureau methods may be found at www.census.gov/govs/www/estimate.html.
Data displayed in tables may be selected, copied, and pasted to a spreadsheet or other file on the user's computer for further analysis.
