Law Enforcement Personnel in Oregon
This Page Provides Information on Staffing Levels of Law Enforcement Personnel by Oregon County.

Use this page to generate graphs and tables of law enforcement staffing in Oregon counties and statewide. The generated graph will show the number of officers and support staff per thousand population as reported by local agencies to the Law Enforcement Data System of the Oregon State Police. The underlying data is presented in the accompanying table, which also gives the actual number of officers and support staff personnel. The table also gives the total number of reported assaults on officers. (This statistic is not included in the table of support staff.)

Please note that deployment of Oregon State Police Officers varies from year to year, and officers attributed to one county may actually cover other counties, as well. The numbers for Marion County include officers and support staff at the state police headquarters in Salem. Also note that the rate for municipal police officers is averaged across the total county population and therefore does not represent staffing levels within the cities of that county. The latter may vary considerably from one city to the next within the county. The numbers reported here represent budgeted positions, and to the extent that positions may be vacant, may not always reflect the actual number of officers available for duty. Numbers for municipal police agencies include the relatively small number of Oregon Liquor Control Commission officers.
First select the type of personnel: Sworn Officers, Support Staff, or the total of both.
