Improving Government is an initiative that
evaluates how state government operates in
order to maximize dollars that directly serve
Oregonians. The initiative brings agencies
together in a collaborative manner to create
unified operational change, evaluating opportunities
where “back-office” functions can be optimized, streamlined
or otherwise modified to reduce administrative costs while still
supporting the long-term objectives and outcomes of the state.

Improving Government has three primary focus areas at this time:

                   Address Current Biennia Revenue Shortfall
Seek ways to address budget shortfall by considering short-term projects that create long-term efficiencies.

Reduce Costs of Administrative Services in the 2013-15 Biennium

Take specific, collective actions through FY13-15 budget and planning processes to further increase operational efficiency and reduce administrative costs, consistent with the 2010 Legislative 10% Reduction Budget Note.

                  Improve How Government Works

Build efficient operations for Executive branch State agencies in order to maximize service delivery to Oregonians.
