                The Regulatory Streamlining and
Simplification Initiative was created to
promote a more positive business climate
and stimulate job growth in Oregon. The project is sponsored by
Governor John Kitzhaber, Attorney General John Kroger and Department of Administrative Services Director and Chief Operating Officer Michael Jordan.

An advisory committee is tasked with guiding the project to identify a comprehensive
long-term strategic roadmap for improving Oregon’s regulatory climate. The project was launched as part of a concerted effort to fulfill the 2010 Oregon Business Plan's initiative to simplify and streamline Oregon’s regulatory and permitting processes. An initial proposal was submitted to Governor Kitzhaber on December 8, 2011. A final proposal with the long-term strategic roadmap is to be finalized in May 2012.
