CLACKAMAS COUNTY COURT'S DROP-IN-THE-BUCKET COST SAVINGS CAMPAIGN

The employees, managers and judges of the Clackamas County Court continue to brain-storm ideas for how we might cut costs from our operating budget which consists of things like phone service, postage, paper, pens, maintenance on equipment, furniture, travel, etc.  This portion of our overall budget is less than 3% and suggestions for savings are often described as just a “drop-in-the-bucket.”  We decided that every idea counts and that the drops can add up to a significant savings, one drop at a time.  We set a lofty goal of achieving overall savings of 25% in our operating budget.  This is @ $200,000 between March of 2009 and the end of the next state budget cycle in June 30, 2011.  Follow our progress.
