In the summer of 2004, intern Circe Torruelas launched a comprehensive assessment of Oregon state government's performance measure system (doc). Her findings were used by the Progress Board in developing its recommendations to the legislature (doc) as required by law.

Oregon´s benchmarks and performance measure work is featured prominently in this study by the United States Government Accountability Office (GAO), which examines: (1) The state of the practice in these systems in the United States and around the world, (2) Lessons learned and implications for the nation, and (3) Observations, options, and next steps to be considered if further action is taken.   AGA Reviews Oregon Reports   The Association of Government Accountants (AGA) has established a program to help state and local governments strengthen their performance reports and recognize, through a Certificate of Excellence program, the truly outstanding reports. We are pleased to announce that as part of this program, the AGA reviewed two volunteer state agencies from Oregon.
