Citizen Reports of State Vehicle Misuse
Citizen Reports of State Vehicle Misuse or State Employee Driving
DAS-Risk Management has been assigned the responsibility to receive and respond to reports from the public about their concerns related to state employee driving. Citizens also may raise concerns about the appropriate use of state vehicles.

Our authority is limited to state agencies. If the vehicle is being operated by another public entity, you should contact them with your concern. If you give us the license plate number we can quickly determine if it is a state operated vehicle.

We take reports in writing, via e-mail, or over the phone.

Tell us:
  • License plate number.
  • The date and time of the activity being reported.
  • The location where the activity occurred (name of the city, street, highway, mile marker, direction of travel).
  • Activity that is the cause of your concern.
Other helpful information includes:
  • Description of vehicle
  • Description of driver and passengers
