Web Migration Progress

The E-government Program is making good progress on the way to migrating 1,000,000 of the state’s Web pages. During the month of October, the Board of Dentistry, the Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists, and the Department Veterans’ Affairs completed their migrations to TeamSite.

Patrick Braatz, of the Board of Dentistry said, “The conversion went so quickly, it caught us off guard.”  Julia Cooley, of the Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists wrote, “The completed product exceeds our expectations. The creative use of templates has created a Web site our customers will find easy to use.”

Norm Hesseldahl, of the Department of Veterans´ Affairs, was so pleased with the results of his agency’s migration that he would like to move an additional Web site, that of the Oregon Veterans’ Home, into TeamSite.

  • View Web sites
  • Etc.
Look for updates on the availability of these tools in future DirectLink newsletters.

Text Only Web Site

Oregon.gov customers now have the option of accessing Web content in a strictly text version. Having this alternative helps meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The link is available in the right hand column of the Oregon.gov homepage and, for agencies that have migrated their Web content to Oregon.gov, from the agency’s left hand navigation bar. In addition, the text only link is available from the footer section of all Oregon.gov pages.

This feature highlights a key benefit of the Oregon.gov content management system: enhancements are created and deployed by the E-government program for the benefit of all agencies using TeamSite content management.

Online Services -- connecting citizens with state government

This past summer, E-government launched an Online Services directory from the Oregon.gov homepage. Agencies immediately populated this directory with links to the many agency services that are offered online.

Additionally, the How Do I page is a great resource for citizens who want to know how they access a particular state service.

If your agency provides a service not listed on these pages, or if it’s time to update the current information, contact Chane Griggs.

Two information technology professionals talking

John Gugel continues his great work as the E-Government Migration Manager. He can be reached at (503) 378-4335. john.gugel@state.or.us

One of the first things the E-government team will do for agencies embarking on Web content migration is have a face-to-face meeting to clarify the process, ensure agency questions are answered, and resources are outlined for agency success.
