Now more than ever, our personal information is at risk from hackers, identity thieves and other criminals. And it's not just computers and the Internet that are the problem - there are lots of risks offline ranging from phony phone calls to criminals retrieving your personal information from dumpsters.

Please take some time to look around the ISRC Web site. You'll find lots of great information plus fun and educational games and activities for children, all designed to make you more aware of how to keep your information secure.

The Information Security Resource Center is sponsored by Oregon state government's Enterprise Security Office, a section of the Oregon Department of Administrative Services.

This resource center is divided into three main sections. You'll find links to the topics listed below in the left navigation bar.

In the first section, we'll take a look at basic principles of information security and then look in more detail at some of the many threats that face you.

In the second section, we'll focus on some areas of current concern such as identity theft, and how to help build kids' awareness of danger areas on the Internet.

In the final section, we'll provide a library of resources and guidance documents for anyone with responsibility for setting up a security awareness training program for his or her organization or business.

On some of the pages, you'll see a link saying "Test Your Knowledge." This will open a pop quiz that you can use to test your understanding of each topic as you look through the site.
