FAQ Web Filtering 8e6
Q:  When I logged in this morning I was able to access the Internet, now I'm being prompted to authenticate. What is wrong?
A:  It is possible the authenticat.exe process terminated or is no longer running on your system. Rebooting your system and   logging in will resolve this. If you do not want to reboot, you can authenticate through the web.

Q.  Can I get to the Internet without authenticating?
A:  No, if you are redirected to the web authentication site you will need to login.

Q:  Does this mean I have to login in twice when I access the Internet?
A:  Only if one or more of the following conditions apply:
  1. An employee tries to intentionally bypass the web monitoring or attempts to elevate their access privileges.
  2. An employee shares a computer with multiple users with one generic login account.
  3. The authenticat.exe deployed in a user login script unexpectedly terminates.
  4. An employee who uses a non standard operating system (Linux or UNIX) will be required to authenticate to access the Internet.
Q:  If one of the four conditions apply to me, will I have to get a new login ID and password?
A:  No, you will use your current login and password.

Q:  What do I need to do with my pop-up blocker?
A:  If you are redirected to the web authentication page, you will need to configure your web browser to allow pop-ups from this site.
