Frequently Asked Questions About Open Enrollment for 2014 Benefits

Why do I need to enroll?
Your costs for 2014 core benefits are determined by the choices you make during Open Enrollment, now through Oct. 31. If you don't make these choices during Open Enrollment, you will automatically be moved to default status with higher costs in 2014.

Do I need to enroll if I just want to keep my current choices?
Yes. To keep your current choices without paying more next year, you need to log into https://pebb.benefits.oregon.gov by Oct. 31, 2013, and enroll in your 2014 health plan even if it's the same one you have currently.

Do I need to enroll to participate in the 2014 Health Engagement Model (HEM)?
Yes. To participate in 2014 HEM, you need to do these two things by Oct. 31, 2013 (you can do them in either order):

  1. log into https://pebb.benefits.oregon.gov and enroll in your health plan for 2014 (even if it's the same one you have currently) and select "I choose to participate in 2014 HEM" and
  2. Complete your 2014 health assessment on your current health plan's website.
