Project Description
  • Taking a snapshot of the current Oregon Procurement System & DAS-SPO operations.
  • Benchmarking other organizations to determine best practices.
  • Defining a world class procurement system for Oregon.
  • Identifying & implementing the practical actions to create a world-class procurement system.

NOTE: "Procurement System", for the purposes of SIP, is composed of legal requirements, operational practices and processes of all stakeholders which contribute to Oregon’s procurement process, this includes DAS-SPO.

Highlights (Last Revised 12/16/08)
    
Major milestone achieved. We have completed the "Document the Present" stage of the SIP project. This milestone describes the current business environment at the Department of Administrative Services State Procurement Office and the State Procurement System as a whole.
As a result of this work, Public Knowledge has created five reports documenting the information gained through research, interviews, and surveys. The links below provide a summary of the information gathered through this process. Full copies of the reports may be obtained by contacting Jacquie Spenner, Project Manager.
The State Procurement Office has started the next two project stages, "Design the Future" and "Analyze the Differences". We will continue to involve stakeholders in this process as we move ahead.
