Furlough Closures
Due to state budget reductions, most state agencies will close to observe mandatory unpaid furloughs on select Fridays this year. To view a list of the furlough dates, visit this site: http://oregon.gov/furlough_closures.shtml.
Holiday Closures
State agencies observe the following state holidays and will close on these dates: Presidents Day - Monday, Feb. 20, 2012
Memorial Day - Monday, May 28, 2012
Independence Day - Wednesday, July 4, 2012
Labor Day - Monday, Sept. 3, 2012
Veterans Day - Monday, Nov. 12, 2012
Thanksgiving Day - Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012
Christmas Day - Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012
Overview
Oregon state government wants to ensure it stays open to conduct the citizens' business. Occasionally, though, bad weather or other conditions force the state to close offices. See state policy 60.015.01 (pdf) for details on the decision-making process to close a state office.
