The Background Check Unit (BCU) provides background check services and support to all DHS and Oregon Health Authority (OHA) divisions for employment purposes, for those who provide services or seek to provide services as a contractor, subcontractor, vendor or volunteer, or are employed by qualified entities that provide care and are licensed, certified, registered or otherwise regulated by DHS or OHA.
12/30/2016 UPDATES TO PROVIDER FORMS. BCU has updated the background check request forms (MSC301) for provider subject individuals. See the forms and instructions on the FORMS page.
UPDATES TO PROVIDER RULES. As of 12/1/2016, BCU has implemented provider rules updates regarding child-caring agencies, expansion of child protective services checks in background checks, and other changes. Note: Child abuse is now a potentially disqualifying condition for most subject individuals. Go to RULES AND POLICY for details. These provider rules also include new federal requirements for Employment Related Day Care child care providers added 3/15/2017.
