ODHHS

Members of the Oregon Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Advisory Committee (ODHHSAC) are appointed by the Department of Human Services (DHS) Director. The committee consists of 12 individuals who have experience and knowledge about the deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing community. The committee meets six times a year to represent the interests of deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing Oregonians and provide feedback and recommendations to the DHS Director.

The executive committee consists of the two co-chairs and secretary, and meets monthly to help the committee accomplish its work in the most efficient way. The committee facilitates decision-making between committee meetings or in the case of a crisis or other urgent circumstances.

The advisory committee is currently looking to fill a vacant position. Please submit the application below if you are interested. Parents of deaf children and individuals who are hard of hearing are encouraged to apply as we strive to have a committee of balanced perspectives.
