Can one site have two members and can they be doing different things?

Yes, all sites can apply for up to two members. If awarded two, those members can be working on the same projects simultaneously or working on individual projects. Be sure to write out a separate Member Service Plan for each member you are applying for.

Can one Member have more than one Site Supervisor?

Each Member is placed with a specific Host Site organization, which has designated a Site Supervisor who is responsible for overall supervision and providing training, scheduling, monitoring of all Service Plan activities, providing office work space, supplies, program materials. Member's Service Plan activities may be conducted in various locations throughout the county in which they serve, working along with "lead" staff there or with volunteers; however, each Member reports to their own Site Supervisor.

Can Host Site supplement the living allowance?

The living allowance is dictated by the program's grant and is a federal stipend and all Members in the program must receive the same amount. A Host Site may not supplement the living allowance and may not employ the Member.

Host Site is expected to pay Member expenses such as parking at Host Site and lunch during required lunch meetings. In-kind donations such as car maintenance, gym membership, local goods and services may also be contributed to the Member through community partners.

Is housing available?

Housing is not offered through AmeriCorps HOPE. However, once a Member has been selected, the Host Site may be able to assist the Member in finding affordable housing in the community where Member will be serving.
