Teen leaders are the heart of the STARS program. To encourage leadership development and participation, STARS has created an advisory board of student volunteers. These teens offer feedback to the STARS Program, act as ambassadors of the STARS message around the state and carry out projects in their local communities that highlight the benefits of postponing sexual involvement.

group of teens"TAB is truly a great experience and one that I never want to forget.  You have changed my life, and opened my eyes to the fact that I can make a difference in my community, no matter how big or small. You have done a lot for me and I truly thank you."

- Allie Smith, West Albany High School

TAB members are selected to represent the STARS Teen Leaders in their county. They serve on the board for one school-year term, and may apply for a second year.

Senior TAB members have the opportunity to create and carry out a project for scholarship consideration.  The scholarship is one way the STARS Foundation encourages education and training beyond high school.

To apply to be a TAB member, students must:

  • Be an Alumni Teen Leader with classroom experience
  • Complete the Teen Advisory Board Application
  • Obtain a recommendation from a Classroom Facilitator
