This employment opportunity is with the Public Health Division, which is part of the Department of Human Services (DHS). There is one full time position in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) section located in PORTLAND. A union represents this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor's Degree in any discipline that included six-quarter units in statistics or quantitative analysis methods and procedures, and one year experience using computerized applications to independently gather, compile, and analyze data and prepare narrative or statistical reports.
NOTE: College transcripts must be included and courses clearly marked if using this option to qualify.
OR
Four years of research experience using computerized applications to independently gather, compile, and analyze data and prepare narrative or statistical reports.
AND
- Experience using advanced statistical or quantitative analysis computer applications.
- College-level course work in advanced statistics or quantitative analysis such as multiple regression, factor analysis, analyses of variance and discriminate analysis.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The purpose of the position is to collect, analyze, summarize, and make accessible qualitative and quantitative data from a large variety of sources to support the State Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) and contracted local WIC partners. This position provides consultation to all state WIC teams and partners to meet a variety of program needs.
Major duties include:
- Provides consultation to WIC Program staff in the areas of data collection, analysis and interpretation in all aspects of the program including client demographics, health risks and health outcomes, contracted vendors, WIC foods, contracted local agencies, County and state demographics, program evaluation data, etc. Works with the principal investigator to complete analysis of the WIC Fruit & Vegetable Research Project, and complete project coordination tasks.
- Provides consultation to staff in the development of surveys, questionnaires, WIC data system (TWIST) reports, ad hoc reports for both state and local agencies and other data collection tools to assure valid data and analysis.
- Prepares special data reports to assist in state and local caseload management. Provide technical assistance as needed to support the development, implementation, and evaluation of the State WIC Funding Formula.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires occasional in state travel to attend meetings or to provide presentations. You must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record. If not, you must be able to provide an alternate method of transportation.
