These employment opportunities are with Children, Adults and Families, (CAF), which is part of the Department of Human Services (DHS). These positions are represented by a union. There are continuous openings in various locations throughout the state for both full-time and part-time positions.

Furlough
Please be aware that due to the economic downturn and subsequent state budget short-fall the Governor has ordered mandatory furloughs for employees. This position will be required to take furloughs in the biennium 2009-2011.
QUALIFICATIONS
One-year experience assisting professionals in one or more specialized social programs such as family services, children services, senior services, mental or developmental disability services, substance abuse programs, juvenile corrections programs, or occupational skills programs;
OR…Possession of a current certification in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Addiction Counseling Preparation, or Juvenile Corrections;
OR…45 quarter hours, or 30 semester hours of college course work in sociology, psychology, early childhood education, criminal justice, human services, juvenile corrections, or occupational skills training;
OR…An Associate's degree in a field not closely related to Social Work/Human Services and six months of human services related experience (i.e., work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economically disadvantaged, employment, abuse and neglect, substance abuse, aging, mental or physical disabilities, juvenile prevention, health, cultural competencies, and/or inadequate housing).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The person in this position provides transportation and client supervision for visits between parents and children, evaluation and treatment appointments, and other activities designed to assist direct services workers in meeting client needs.
Report to the services worker and document in writing as needed or as requested the interaction and observations of parent-child relationships during monitored visitation.
Give feedback assistance, support and coaching to parents during visitation to facilitate appropriate parenting and visitation behavior. These interventions will be in consultation with the service worker.
Inform the service worker of the client’s special or unusual concerns and needs.
Help clients obtain day care, medical care, housing and other services.
Testify in Court as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Travel is required to assist and transport clients. Occasional extended travel and periodic activities beyond regular work hours.
You must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. If not, you must be able to provide an alternate method of transportation.
