This employment opportunity is with the Public Health Division (PHD), which is part of the Department of Human Services (DHS). There is one full-time opening located within the Oregon Medical Marijuana Program (OMMP) located in PORTLAND. This position is Management Service and is not represented by a union.
This recruitment announcement will be used to establish a list of qualified candidates to fill the current vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Three years of office management experience; or three years of supervisory experience over office, technical, or support staff, including responsibility for the hiring, training, assigning and reviewing work, doing performance appraisals and handling disciplinary action.
One year of experience must have included supervision over multiple support functions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The purpose of this position is to manage the OMMP operations, including office workload, organization, and staff supervision.
MAJOR DUTIES INCLUDE:
Employee manages OMMP work tasks, office organization, and supervises up to 12.00 FTE.
Employee manages OMMP administrative functions (financial affairs, inventory control, purchasing, travel and legal expenses, and timekeeping).
Performs the day-to-day processing of applications, including drafting application extension and denial letters.
Employee has fiscal responsibilities including: logging application fee revenue and accounting for program expenditures.
Employee oversees all OMMP quality improvement activities.
Employee manages the OMMP database; trains subordinate staff in database use and confidentiality matters, and reports database matters to DHS Office of Information Services staff.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Busy office environment. Some holidays. Employee may have to travel on OMMP business outside regular working hours. You must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record. If not, you must be able to provide an alternate method of transportation. Overtime may be required at any time to manage the ongoing workload and to complete special projects. Sitting for long periods of time.
This position requires a typing speed of 55 wpm. Please indicate this in the Specialized Skills Section of your PD100.
