This employment opportunity is with the Public Health Division (PHD), which is part of the Department of Human Services (DHS). There is one full time opening located within the Office of Family Health Maternal and Child Health Section in PORTLAND. A union represents this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
A Master's degree in either Nursing or Public Health and four years of recent (within the last ten years) nursing experience, which includes two years of nurse supervising, administrative, or teaching experience OR
A Bachelor's degree in Nursing and five years of recent (within the last ten years) nursing experience, which includes two years of nurse supervising, administrative or teaching experience

- Experience working with maternal and child health programs with perinatal populations.

- Experience providing public health policy development, research, planning, resource development and coordination for developing initiatives or projects to improve the health of pregnant women and families.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position serves as team lead for the Perinatal Health Strategic program for the Office of Family Health, providing the over all expertise, direction and coordination of the Program.
MAJOR DUTIES INCLUDE
Serves in a nurse leadership role in the development and coordination of the Perinatal Health Program.
Actively seeks resources to support perinatal health improvements at the state or local levels.
Provide technical assistance and training to LHD, partners and other state and local agencies on perinatal health issues.
Coordinates and collaborates with other State perinatal health, local health department, and community-based partners to share information and resources related to policy changes.
Collaborates with policy, program, assessment, evaluation and nurse consultation staff as well as external partners in developing, implementing and evaluating a Perinatal Health Program that addresses direct service needs as well as statewide responses to perinatal health issues.
Provides fact finding for legislative activity that impacts or falls under the expertise of Perinatal Health.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Frequent in-state and some out-of-state travel with overnight stays. Occasional weekend and evening hours.
You must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record. If not, you must be able to provide an alternate method of transportation.
