This employment opportunity is with the Public Health Division (PHD), which is part of the Department of Human Services (DHS). There is one permanent full time opening located within the Office of Family Health, Adolescent Health Section PORTLAND. QUALIFICATIONS A Bachelors degree in Community Health, Epidemiology or a closely related field and four years of epidemiological or community health experience of which one year must have been in a supervising, lead worker or project leadership role. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Adolescent Health Section works collaboratively with the programs and services provided by Adolescent health, Office of Family Health, Health Services, Department of Human Services, and other offices within Health Services as they affect the school-aged child and adolescent. MAJOR DUTIES INCLUDE: Project Coordination Plans, oversights and evaluates the implementation and outcomes of a wide range of health economic research projects regarding the costs, revenue, funding and operations of Oregon's School Based Health Centers. Epidemiologic and health cost studies Independently collects and analyzes complex epidemiologic and budgetary data, interprets data analysis findings and compiles subsequent reports regarding the funding models and financial strategies of Oregon School Based Health Centers. Technical consultation Confer with management, the School Based program coordinator, epidemiologists, research analysts, State and local officials and other partners regarding current population-based data, trends, projections and policy recommendations for Oregon's School Based Health Centers. Training Provides or arranges for general technical training for other team members and staff. WORKING CONDITIONS: Occasional in-state travel to meet with local health departments, School Based Health Center (SBHC) staff, and state partners. Rare out-of-state travel for professional development, training or participation in relevant national SBHC workgroups is negotiable. You must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
