INTRODUCTION
The Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS)/ Children, Adults and Families (CAF) is seeking qualified candidates to be considered for one full time Child Welfare Program Supervisor located at the Alberta Child Welfare office in Portland. The chosen candidates will provide clinical supervision to child welfare casework staff. This position is management service and is not represented by a union.
SCOPE OF THE POSITION
The Child Welfare Program Supervisor provides clinical supervision to child welfare casework staff. The major duties include:
- Implementing organizational objectives and ensuring that the quantity and quality of work achieves DHS standards.
- Developing staff competence to complete critical case work functions.
- Conducting performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, locking time and signing off on leave requests.
- Representing DHS at various community meetings including Citizens Review Board, Multidisciplinary Teams and Commission on Children and Families.
- Promoting an organizational culture that calls for high standards of performance, values diversity, and aligns employees with the Department’s mission and values.
- Contributing to an organization culture that actively models the 5 DHS Core Values of Integrity, Stewardship, Responsibility, Respect, and Professionalism.
- Modeling the 8 DHS Management Competencies of Planning and Achieving Results, Communication, Customer Service, Resource Management, Teamwork, Leadership, Cultural Competence, and Managing People.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's or higher degree in Social Work/Human Services, or related field.
OR
Bachelor's degree in a field not closely related AND one year of human services related experience (i.e., work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economically disadvantaged, employment, abuse and neglect, substance abuse, aging, disabilities, health, cultural competencies, inadequate housing).
