(Business Service Manager)

$2,882 - $4,039 MONTHLY


This employment opportunity is with Children, Adults and Families (CAF), which is part of the Department of Human Services (DHS).  There is one full-time position located in GRESHAM.  This position is management service and is not represented by a union.
 
This recruitment announcement will be used to establish a list of qualified candidates to fill the current vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies.
 
Please be aware that due to the economic downturn and subsequent state budget short-fall the Governor has ordered mandatory furloughs for employees. This position will be required to take furloughs in the biennium 2009-2011.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
 
One year of experience as a supervisor of clerical, secretarial, or office support staff, which included hiring or recommending hiring; training, assigning and reviewing work; preparing performance evaluations; and handling disciplinary actions.
 
Working knowledge of Self-Sufficiency business practices is desired.

Experience working with various programs in Self-Sufficiency support services.
  • Experience developing and implementing new procedures or revising current work procedures to improve the work flow.

  • Experience explaining State and Federal Laws, Administrative Rules, policies and procedures for office staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
This position functions within the Department of Human Services, Children Adults and Families. The basic purpose of this work is to carry out the objectives and goals of the agency to help people become independent healthy and safe.
 
MAJOR DUTIES INLUDE:
 
Manages a support unit comprised of various support staff positions such as HSS1, OS1, and OS2.
 
Manages facility.  Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by coordinating routine building maintenance, security system, and any other facility related needs.
 
Monitors and approves supply levels and requests. 
 
Coordinates position management for the branch including tracking vacancies and positions through the hiring process. 
 
Complete special projects as assigned and/or developed.  Includes in-branch projects and/or collaboration with the general community on projects.
 
WORKING CONDITIONS
 
Some travel required.  Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.  If no driver's license, must be able to provide alternate method of transportation.  May experince long periods of sitting at a computer terminal.  Hours of work may vary from day to day and may include evenings and weekends.
