This employment opportunity is with Children, Adults and Families Child Welfare Office, which is part of the Department of Human Services (DHS).  There is one full-time opening located in GRESHAM.  This position is represented by a union.
 
This recruitment announcement will be used to establish a list of qualified candidates to fill the current vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur.
 
Please be aware that due to the economic downturn and subsequent state budget short-fall the Governor has ordered mandatory furloughs for employees. This position will be required to take furloughs in the biennium 2009-2011.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
 
Completion of courses or training in Office Technology; OR
 
One year of general clerical experience including typing or word processing, or other generating of documents;
 
OR 
an equivalent combination of training and experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
The purpose of the position is to provide services to DHS clients and workers.  This position performs support functions that Support Staff, Case Managers and Managers.  Mailroom Coordinators are responsible for opening and process any incoming USPS mail,  getting UPS/Fed Ex package ready for out going pick up. 
 
MAJOR DUTIES INCLUDE:
 
Receives incoming calls at PBX and transfers to the appropriate person.
Processes and delivers all incoming mail. 
Assist with internal case transfers by sending new worker letters and updating load code on UCMS and FCAS.
Processes transfer-in and transfer-out case files.
Participate in work related training opportunities provided by the department.
 
WORKING CONDITIONS
 
Occasional travel if asking for computer class training other than that all work is done in mailroom.  You must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record. If not, you must be able to provide an alternate method of transportation.  Long periods of sitting at a computer terminal.
