Governor names two to Commission on Senior Services
Governor Ted Kulongoski has appointed Charles Frazier of Bend and Kathleen Schonau of Newport to the Governor's Commission on Senior Services.
Frazier, a consulting pharmacist with expertise in the care of seniors, was named to a three-year term. Schonau, a registered nurse specializing in care of seniors, was appointed to a term that expires October 10, 2007.
The Governor's Commission on Senior Services was created by the Oregon Legislature in 1985 to advise the governor and Oregon Department of Human Services director on needs of elderly persons, and to recommend actions by government and the private sector to meet those needs.
Frazier is a past chair and current board member of the Deschutes County Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Advisory Board. Schonau is in her second term on the Pacific Communities Hospital District board of directors, and just completed a year as board president.
