Director's Message
July 8, 2004
To: DHS Employees
From: Gary Weeks, Director
I wanted to take a moment to recognize the tremendous outpouring of support you have given to an effort to collect items to send to Oregon National Guard, Bravo Company 2-162.
Your gestures of generosity are a fitting tribute to a young soldier described by friends and family members as giving, charitable and kind. Eric McKinley made what is unquestionably the most selfless act of all when he lost his life fighting for our country on June 13.
I want to commend the members of OMAP's Delivery Systems Unit and Health Management Unit, who have coordinated the donations and solicitations for toiletry and comfort items, as well as collecting cash contributions that will be used to pay for the packages being sent to Eric's unit in Iraq.
If you have a moment during your afternoon break tomorrow, July 9, please stop by Room 352 after 4 p.m. to see the numerous items that have been collected.
Again, thank you for serving those who serve us.
