Community Partners in Action

We’re receiving many creative ideas for ‘spreading the word’ about the OHP Standard reservation process and wanted to share them with our community partners. Click here to e-mail us activities you’d like to share.

Week of January 21, 2008

  • One self-sufficiency office has held a videoconference training for many of their community partners, where they discussed the reservation list process and answered questions. During the training they also had a brainstorming session of likely places that could offer information to the public. They came up with an extensive list, and many of the partners offered their help in making sure the information was available to those contacts on the list.
  • Staff at Clackamas County Community Health have been going to Food Banks in Clackamas County and obtaining names, birth dates and mailing information from individuals. They will use this information to sign people up on the Web page, once the list opens. They’ve also been making presentations to agencies and groups, including Clackamas Community College, and the North Clackamas and Oregon City School Districts.
  • Several partners and DHS offices are searching their data bases and sending information to people listed. For example, one SPD office has contacted all of their PMDDT pending clients to tell them about the reservation list and offered to help them get signed up if they desire.
  • Staff in District 14 have delivered posters and brochures to community hospitals and pharmacies, as well as the local Wal-Mart, K-Mart, and thrift stores in Ontario, Nyssa, Vale, Burns and John Day.
  • The OHP Standard reservation list has been a topic of discussion at community meetings across the state.
  • DHS District 15 has set up computers in the lobbies at two of their branches for people to enter their information online to the reservation list.
