Ensuring that Oregonians have safe drinking water
The Oregon Drinking Water Program administers and enforces drinking water quality standards for public water systems in the State of Oregon, focuses resources in the areas of highest public health benefit, and promotes voluntary compliance with state and federal drinking water standards. The program also emphasizes prevention of contamination through source water protection, provides technical assistance to water systems, and water system operator training.

Domestic Well Testing for Real Estate Transactions
According to ORS 448.271(1), the seller of the real estate [containing a well that supplies groundwater for domestic purposes] shall upon accepting an offer to purchase that real estate, have the well tested for arsenic, nitrates and total coliform bacteria, and have these results reported to the Oregon Drinking Water Program
How to Disinfect a Well
Wells can be temporarily contaminated with coliform bacteria from construction and maintenance work, and by flooding in the vicinity. After maintenance activities, or significant flooding in your area (and before using well water), please follow the procedures in our Well Disinfection Fact Sheet.
Circuit Rider Technical Services Program
Is a free technical assistance and service program for Community Water Systems that serve populations of less than 10,000 people.

Safe Drinking Water Revolving Loan Fund (SDWRLF)
Is a low interest loan program designed to finance drinking water system improvements needed to maintain full compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act. Community and non-profit non-community water systems are eligible for funding.

Pandemic Influenza and Water System Operations
A guide is available to assist water and wastewater utilities in planning for a catastrophic influenza pandemic. The guide also serves as a non-prescriptive reference for owner-operators, and a practical tool that can be used to augment and tailor existing emergency response plans.
Water System Operator Certification
Oregon Drinking Water Program administers the certification of drinking water system operators. All Community and NonTransient-NonCommunity water systems must be supervised by a certified operator.
