Oregon Basic Examination Schedule

EMT-Basic and EMT-Intermediate exams are coordinated through the educational institutions. When an application to conduct a course is submitted by a school, a date is selected for the class certification examination. If a candidate is unsuccessful during an exam, the candidate's course director will schedule another exam in which he/she may participate.

* NOTE:

Beginning July 1, 1999, a person applying for initial certification as an EMT-Paramedic must present evidence that he/she possesses at least an associate level degree from an accredited institution of higher learning that includes course work equivalent to the uniform associate of applied science degree in emergency medical technology "AAS-EMT Degree" as approved by the State Board of Education and offered by Oregon's community colleges. (OAR 333-265-0010(7))

A person who was certified in this state or any other state as an EMT-Paramedic prior to July 1, 1999, is not required to possess an academic degree in order to retain Oregon certification or to obtain certification by endorsement into the State of Oregon. (OAR 333-265-0010(11))

Confirmation letters will be sent to candidates two weeks prior to the exam date.
