  • CLATSOP COUNTY - PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE I or II - Clatsop County Health & Human Services - Astoria, OR 

    Applications are invited for a part time Public Health Nurse I or II with Clatsop County Health & Human Services.  Duties include providing professional nursing services according to established nursing practices and procedures.  This position requires knowledge of public health nursing principles and practices for maternal child health, family planning and immunizations.  It requires excellent communication skills, ability to be self-directed and self-motivated; ability to work effectively with professional and allied personnel as a team member and with related services and agencies.  Must have ability to ensure strict confidentiality of information.

    QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor of Science in Nursing with at least one year of Public Health experience is required.  Must be currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon.  Must have possession of/or ability to immediately acquire an Oregon driver's license.

  • DESCHUTES COUNTY - Young Child Wellness Expert - Deschutes County Health Department - Bend, OR

    This position is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of a local level component of the comprehensive strategic plan for the Oregon LAUNCH (Linking Access to Unmet Need in Children) project.  Duties include:  develop, implement and sustain programs that address young child wellness; establish an organization structure; hire staff; provide leadership for all facets of child wellness, and; guide the establishment of interagency collaborations with other community-based organizations working with children and families.

    QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor's degree in behavioral or social sciences, or a related field demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills.  Master's degree in public health, early childhood services, mental health or a closely aligned field preferred.  Two years of professional level evaluative, analytical, and planning work in a field related to child and family health or mental health, demonstrating the required skills and knowledge.  Requires expertise in public health, early chidlhood development, and early childhood mental health.

    Position requires frequent in-state travel with overnight stays.  Requires occasional out-of-state travel with overnight stays including twice yearly grantee meetings.

  • MARION COUNTY CORRECTIONS NURSE - MARION COUNTY CORRECTIONS FACILITY Marion County-Salem, OR

    The Corrections Nurse serves as a professional nurse in the Marion County Corrections Facility, performing a variety of nursing duties.  This position exercises considerable independent judgment in all aspects of the medical program; performs physical examinations of inmates, treats or refers them appropriately and dispenses or provides for dispensing of medications under the direction of a licensed physician.

    QUALIFICATIONS:  Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; OR any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the position.  Candidate must also possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon and possess a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

  • MULTNOMAH COUNTY - MANAGER - EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS PROGRAM - Multnomah County Health Department - Portland, OR

    The Multnomah County health Department is seeking a full-time Program Supervisor for the Emergency Preparedness Program.  This position will lead and manage Advanced Practice Center for Emergency Preparedness Program grant activities, and assure completion of grant requirements during the October 1, 2009 - September 30, 2010 grant period.  This is a limited-duration position with no guarantee of employment with Multnomah County following the grant period.  The position will ensure appropriate collaboration with other organizations whose experience is expected to contribute to project activities and result in project deliverables being recognized as national best practices.  The position will directly supervise the work of two project staff and various contractors.  The position requires collaboration with a range of other MCHD staff, a project Advisory and Oversight Committee (AOC), and numerous community partners.

    QUALIFICATIONSExperience:  Requires two years of responsible program development and cooordination experience.  Training:  Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, public health, social work, education, emergency management or a related field.  Formal college-level or graduate school training in public health, training and education or leadership and management is preferred.

  • MULTNOMAH COUNTY - MATERNAL CHILD HEALTH DIRECTOR (EARLY CHILDHOOD SERVICES - Multnomah County Health Department - Downtown, Portland, OR

    This is an executive level public health leadership position responsible for managing the Early Childhood Services (ECS) Program, which includes:  Nurse Family Partnership, Healthy Birth Initiative, Healthy Start, and Maternal/Child Health field teams, and is comprised of eighty-five public health nurse supervisors, nurses and community workers.  The person in this position is the visionary leader and change agent for the ECS program, sets the strategic direction for the services, manages the $13 million operating budget, and monitors the work performance of nine subordinate managers to ensure that goals, objectives and performance measures are met.

  • MULTNOMAH COUNTY - RESEARCH EVALUATION ANALYST 2 - EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS PROGRAM - Multnomah County Health Department - Portland, OR

  • TILLAMOOK COUNTY - NURSE PRACTITIONER or PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT - Tillamook County Health Department - Tillamook, Oregon

    This position provides holistic care to a diverse population of patients in a primary care clinic.  The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant is responsible and accountable for managing a broad range of personal health services which may include assessing and diagnosing problems; developing a plan; recommending, evaluating and/or providing treatment, education, consultation and referral; and advocating for the patient.

  • TILLAMOOK COUNTY - NURSE 1-3 - Tillamook County Health Department - Tillamook, Oregon

    The Registered Nurse "1" position is considered to be an entry level position with mentoring and instruction from a supervisory registered nurse.  RN-1 will provide comprehensive nursing services to individuals, families, and communities in the area of health promotion and illness treatment and prevention.

    The Registered Nurse "2" position works with considerable independence in light of their past professional experience, supervisory nurse, nurse practitioner or medical doctor are all available for consultation.  Two years of progressively responsible nursing experience in a public health setting.

    The Registered Nurse "3" regularly performs work independently with no supervisory nurse, nurse practitioner, or medical doctor on the premises.  Four years progressively responsible professional nursing experience in a clinical or public health setting.

  • UMATILLA COUNTY - NURSE PRACTITIONER - Umatilla County Public Health Department - Pendleton, OR

    This Nurse Practitioner position will provide services up to 24 hours per week to students within the school-based health system for Pendleton's middle school and high school.  Duties include client assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic measures, interviewing clients, performing exams and providing counseling and health education.
