  • BENTON COUNTY - Health Promotion Specialist 2 - Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities Project Coordinator - Benton County Health Department - Corvallis, OR

    This position performs health promotion and disease prevention activities related to childhood obesity and other chronic disease prevention activities including community assessment, program planning, community mobilization, and implementing and evaluating the effectiveness of chronic disease prevention strategies.

    QUALIFICATIONS:  A Bachelor's degree in Pubic Health, Parks and Recreation Planning, City and Regional Planning, Community Development or Social Work and four years of work experience in health promotion, disease prevention, community development, program planning, development, and implementation OR a Graduate/Advanced Degree in Public Health, Parks and Recreation Planning, City and Regional Planning, Community Development or Social Work and two years of work experience in health promotion, disease prevention, community development, program planning, development, and implementation.  Bilingual Spanish speaking skills highly desirable.  The person in this position must possess a valid driver's license.  Position may require use of a personal vehicle.

    SALARY:  $3273 - $4179 with benefits

  • BENTON COUNTY - PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE 3 - Benton County Health Department - Corvallis, OR

    This is a part time position as a maternal and child health home visiting and immunization nurse.  Home visiting nurses utilize their broad knowledge when entering a client's home, formulating an assessment of barriers to wellness, devising a plan that addresses each problem identified, strategizing solutions to barriers, implementation of the strategies and evaluation of the effectiveness of the plan.

    QUALIFICATIONS:  An Associate's degree in Nursing, with a BS in a related field and at least one-year nursing experience or a Bachelor's degree in Nursing.  Previous experience in maternal child health and home visiting preferred.  Current Registered Nurse license and driver's license with a good driving record as this position requires driving to various work locations.

    SALARY:  $23.62 - $30.15/hour with benefits

  • DESCHUTES COUNTY - PSYCHIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONER - Adult Treatment Program, Deschutes County Health Services, Behavioral Health Division - Bend, OR

    Position works as part of a mental health treatment team.  Duties include but are not limited to:  performing comprehensive psychiatric assessments and diagnosis; prescribing psychotropic medications to adults with psychiatric and/or substance abuse disorders; determining the medical necessity of proposed mental health services; working collaboratively with other licensed independent practitioners, mental health practitioners, and primary care providers.

    QUALIFICATIONS:  Master's degree in nursing and one year of responsible psychiatric nurse practitioner experience.  Possession of/or ability to obtain an Oregon Nurse Practitioner License with prescription privileges.  Possesion of/or ability to obtain an Oregon Registered Nurse License.  Possession of/or ability to obtain a valid Oregon Driver's License within 30 days of hire date.

  • DOUGLAS COUNTY  - COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSE 1 & 2 ON CALL - Douglas County Health and Social Services Department/Public Health Division - Roseburg, OR

    This public health nursing position generally works within the Public Health Division's clinic environment providing clinical nursing support in a variety of clinic settings, which can include; STD/HIV, Immunizations, and Family Planning.  The division is looking to identify nursing staff to be on-call to assist in the need and response for potential seasonal flu and Novel H1N1 flu clinics.  This position provides nursing knowledge and assessment skills for public health programs, nursing related diagnosis and skills in clinical practice management, laws and administration; computer skills to be utilized in the documentation of nursing visit activities and work schedule coordination.  Provide client education, by appropriate methods, using communication skills in both written and verbal formats. 

    QUALIFICATIONS:  CHN1 - Associates's Degree in nursing science with coursework emphasis in public health.  CHN2 - Bachelor's degree in nursing with coursework emphasis in public health and one year progressively responsible work experience in a public health setting.  Must possess, at time of appointment, a current valid Oregon Registered Nurse License, and an Oregon Driver's License.

  • DOUGLAS COUNTY  - COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSE 2 - Douglas County Health and Social Services Department/Public Health Division - Roseburg, OR

    This public health nursing position works within the Public Health Division's Babies First and Maternity Case Management Program.  The position works closely with pregnant women and children; assists in the initial assessment of a pregnant woman's risk factors; works with the mother in developing a case plan specific to their individual needs; follows the infant through age 3, providing anticipatory guidance, education, interventions and referrals when necessary.

  • MARION COUNTY - NURSE PRACTITIONER, BILINGUAL (SPANISH/ENGLISH) - Marion County Health Department -  Salem, OR

    This position will provide services to monolingual spanish-speaking clients for Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI), Family Planning and Prenatal Care.  The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will initiate intake screening and nursing assessment, conduct physicial exams, lab tests and assures appropriate treatment to clients.  The NP will utilize standing orders; administer immunizations, injections and evaluate results; provide up-to-date information verbally and in writing to increase client knowledge of his/her condition; initiate plans with clients for follow-up and treatment.

    QUALIFICATIONS:  Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in nursing; AND successful completion of a recognized program for nurse practitioner; OR any satisfatory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the position.  Candidate must be fluent bilingual Spanish/English, certification by the Oregon State Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner and possess a current license to practice as a registered professional nurse in the State of Oregon, and must possess and maintain current CPR/AED certification.

    SALARY:  $30.54 - $38.96/hour.   Part-time 22.5 hours per week.  Benefits program offered.

  • MARION COUNTY - NURSE PRACTITIONER SCHOOL-BASED HEALTH CLINIC - Marion County Health Department -  Salem, OR

    This is a contract position with the School-Based Health Clinic.

  • MULTNOMAH COUNTY - HIV, STD & HEPATITIS ANALYST - Multnomah County Health Department -  Portland, OR

    Responsibilities of this position include the design of data collection tools and needs assessments, program evaluation and analysis, and presentation of relevant epidemiological and program data.  Data collected for HIV Care Services will include demographics and service utilization information required by the Health and Resources Services Administration (HRSA), and associated community planning bodies, including the HIV Services Planning Council.  Presentations will be made to Health Department staff and community planning bodies.  Findings will be used to identify gaps in the service continuum, to improve effectiveness of service provision and to guide program planning decisions and summarize regional prevention and care efforts.  Data collection and reporting for prevention services will include mandatory Department of Human Services HIV/STD/TB Program reports as well as evaluation/monitoring/reporting to inform program planning.  Reports will assist in on-going program evaluation and planning efforts, grant outcomes reporting, the identification of gaps in services; and requests for additional funding.

    QUALIFICATIONS:  Experience - Three years of professional applied research or formal program evaluation experience.  Training - Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, health administration, business, or social sciences, including coursework in applied research, statistics or formal assessment/evaluation subjects.  A Masters in Public Health, with specific focus on epidemiology, is desirable.

  • MULTNOMAH COUNTY - MATERNAL CHILD HEALTH DIRECTOR (EARLY CHILDHOOD SERVICES - Multnomah County Health Department - Downtown, Portland, OR

  • TILLAMOOK COUNTY - FAMILY PRACTICE PHYSICIAN - Tillamook County Health Department - Tillamook, Oregon

    The Physician provides professional, comprehensive primary medical care and treatment services to a diverse population of patients in a primary care clinic setting.  The Physician diagnoses and treats a wide variety of health problems, and proides counseling and referrals for patients when appropriate.

    QUALIFICATIONS:  Graduation from an accredited school of medicine with completion of a one-year internship and/or completion of residency program in a primary care setting.  Must possess a valid license to practice medicine in the State of Oregon.  Family Practice Physician preferred but not required.  Clinic schedule is Monday through Friday; however, may require on-call privileges with the local hospital.

  • TILLAMOOK COUNTY - NURSE 1-3 - Tillamook County Health Department - Tillamook, Oregon

    The Registered Nurse "1" position is considered to be an entry level position with mentoring and instruction from a supervisory registered nurse.  RN-1 will provide comprehensive nursing services to individuals, families, and communities in the area of health promotion and illness treatment and prevention.

    The Registered Nurse "2" position works with considerable independence in light of their past professional experience, supervisory nurse, nurse practitioner or medical doctor are all available for consultation.  Two years of progressively responsible nursing experience in a public health setting.

    The Registered Nurse "3" regularly performs work independently with no supervisory nurse, nurse practitioner, or medical doctor on the premises.  Four years progressively responsible professional nursing experience in a clinical or public health setting.

  • YAMHILL COUNTY - HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES DIRECTOR - Yamhill County - McMinnville, OR

    This position plans, directs and leads the activities, programs and staff of the County's Health and Human Services Department.  The director serves as chief officer for the development and on-going management of countywide health and human services, including psychosocial rehabilitation, chemical dependency, developmental disability services, mental health, and public health.  Prepares and administers the department budget, oversees the development and implementation of departmental contracts and intergovernmental agreements and coordinates department services with other county departments as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in behavioral, social, or health science, special education, public administration, or human service administration.  Five to seven years experience in human services programs, two of which are in community mental health and/or developmental disability and two of which are program managerial experience in human services.  Three years of increasing responsibility and experience in public health or a related field preferred.
