| Mission |
|
The mission of the OWIIPP Advisory Committee is to share data and other information on worker injury and disease in Oregon. The Committee will:
-
collaborate on priority issues and share resources in order to select, reduce, and prevent occupational illness and injury among Oregonians;

help identify and prioritize topics of concern;
-
review research and information from other states, agencies, and organizations to develop effective illness and injury interventions;
-
develop action plans with metrics for evaluating which strategies are most effective in reducing illness or injury.
Committee members recognize that they are providing advice to the Oregon Public Health Division, Department of Human Services (OPHD, DHS) and the Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division (OR-OSHA).

The OWIIPP Advisory Committee is a 12-15 member consultation group convened by both OPHD, DHS and OR-OSHA. The group meets two times a year in the Portland area.

On an annual basis, the Advisory Committee will review its membership. Organizations or agencies may be added or removed as a result of the Advisory Committee review process.
Members of the Advisory Committee are concerned with accurately identifying patterns and trends of worker illness and injury in Oregon and selecting certain trends and activities for collaborative illness and injury prevention efforts.
Committee membership is for one-year and is renewable.
