Programs

Research and Education Services consists of programs that focus on the identification, assessment and prevention of occupational and environmental illnesses and injuries affecting Oregonians.

We conduct surveillance on reportable environmental illnesses and targeted occupational injuries and diseases, and provide information and education on preventive strategies to manage environmental health risks for the public and health providers. Our mission is to improve the safety and health status of all Oregonians.

What We're Doing

A statewide Environmental Public Health Tracking (EPHT) network connects environmental hazards, exposures, and health outcome data throughout the state.

Working with communities affected by hazardous waste by assessing health risks and addressing health concerns about contaminated sites through Environmental Health Assessment Program (EHAP) activities.

Partnering with industry, labor, researchers, state and federal agencies as the Occupational Public Health Program (OPHP) to share data, find trends in workplace injuries, and implement prevention strategies.

Implementing the Oregon's Pesticide Exposure Safety & Tracking Program as part of a nationwide effort through the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) to promote "safety and health at work for all people through research and prevention".
