Services and programs for seniors and people with physical disabilities.
Seniors and People with Disabilities (SPD) Overview
Annual Performance Measures
In this section of the DHS Web we offer information about services for seniors and people with physical disabilities. We have also included information about aging, health related issues, receiving and providing caregiving services, how to get legal, housing, food and financial help; and support and advocacy for older Oregonians.
Oregon’s long-term care system provides a variety of supports and services from in-home supports to comprehensive skilled nursing care. Services are designed to protect a person’s individual independence, dignity and choice. Staff at local offices and through community partners can help you find the right mix of services that meet your needs.
Since people’s needs vary based on many different issues, you need to be aware of your own and your loved ones' health needs. Make sure each health professional you see is aware of your basic health status and goals. If you develop medical problems, you will need to become knowledgeable about the health care system and certain diseases.
This Web site is part of our mission to assist older Oregonians to achieve well-being through opportunities for community living, employment and services that promote choice, independence and dignity.
