Suspicious Package Found at Department of Corrections Facility

At 11:45 a.m., the mailroom at the Department of Corrections (DOC) Coffee Creek Correctional Facility (CCCF) received a suspicious package. Security precautions were immediately put into effect by CCCF staff and the Oregon State Police were contacted and are on site.

As a precaution, inmate visiting has been canceled. "We have a responsibility to the public, staff and inmates to take all such threats seriously," said CCCF Superintendent Nancy Howton.

CCCF is located in Wilsonville and is the state's only female prison and the Intake Center for all inmates entering DOC custody. Today, CCCF houses 1,455 inmates.
