Inspector General
The Office of the Inspector General provides an oversight function on behalf of the director and deputy director of the Department of Corrections. The Office of the inspector general was created in 1990 as recommended by an investigative report to the Governor. The inspector general has broad responsibility for oversight of suspected, alleged or actual misconduct within the Department of Corrections, reporting to the director or deputy, and to other officials as required by law and the DOC Code of Conduct.

Special Investigations Unit
The Special Investigations Unit provides investigative services to all ODOC institutions and facilities. The unit has investigators specializing in fugitive apprehension and prevention, drug and contraband investigations, investigations and employee misconduct. The unit is a resource to federal, state and local law enforcement agencies by providing them with intelligence and investigative assistance as it relates to inmates' criminal misconduct.

Hearings Unit
The Hearings Unit is currently composed of a Hearings Administrator; Hearings Officers; and Hearings support staff. The unit works together to ensure that all hearings for the Oregon Department of Corrections are conducted and processed accurately in a timely manner.

Intelligence Section
The Intelligence Section serves as the Department's central hub for all threat intelligence and acts as the information liaison with outside law enforcement agencies. This section receives information from all ODOC institutions/facilities, outside stakeholders and other sources. Once information is gathered, it is analyzed, verified and disseminated to the appropriate areas to be used in developing plans of action which allows the Department to proactively respond to current and emerging threats.
 
Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA)
The Oregon Department of Corrections has a zero tolerance for sexual abuse. The Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003 is a federal law that seeks to eliminate sexual assaults and sexual misconduct. This law applies to all federal and state prisons, jails, police lock-ups, private facilities, juvenile facilities, and community correctional settings.

Fugitive Apprehension 
The Department of Corrections Fugitive Apprehension Unit assists police in locating and apprehending inmates who escape from prison, walk away from a work crew, or abscond from authorized community supervision. Individuals who have fled custody are identified through the links below.  If you have any information regarding their whereabouts, please contact us.

Security Threat Management
Security Threat Management has STM Lieutenants strategically placed in various ODOC institutions and facilities. The STM Lieutenants handle a case load of inmates based on the inmates prior misconduct and/or intelligence information and are identified as creating an elevated risk to the safety, security, and orderly operations of the ODOC institutions and facilities. The STM Lieutenants coordinate with all institutions to manage the day to day activities of these inmates ensuring compliance iwth their Oregon Corrections Plan, ODOC rules, and maintaining safe and secure institutions/facilities.
