Inmate Walks Away from Work Crew (Captured 9-6-06)

A minimum-custody inmate walked away today from a 10-man work crew in Portland. The crew from Columbia River Correctional Institution in Portland was working under the St. John's Bridge when Jacob Eugene Stinnett, 25, was noted missing at 11 a.m.

Stinnett is a white male, 5'6" tall, and weighs 160 lbs. He has blonde hair and green eyes. He was wearing denim jeans, and a blue T-shirt with "INMATE" prominently stenciled in orange. He has a dragon tattooed on his upper right arm, "I Love Rosa" tattooed on his upper left arm, and the word "dog" tattooed on his neck.

Stinnett was serving 83 months on Marion County convictions for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and robbery. He was admitted to prison in March 2000 and was not scheduled to be released until February 2009.

As with all fugitives, he should be considered dangerous and not be approached. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts should contact the Oregon State Police at 1-800-452-7888, the non-emergency number of their local police department, or the Oregon Department of Corrections Fugitive Apprehension Unit at 503-945-9030.
