One of escapees from prison in Lakeview recaptured
One of two minimum-custody inmates who escaped Saturday, Sept. 6 from Warner Creek Correctional Facility in Lakeview has been recaptured.
Joseph Swift, 25, dob 11/19/1982, was serving 127 months for robbery from Multnomah County. He was recaptured about 1 a.m.

Christopher Sherrod, 31, dob 8/19/1977, was serving 70 months for kidnapping from Linn County. Sherrod is a white male, 6' tall, weighing 170 lbs. He has brown hair and hazel eyes. He has no tattoos. He was last seen wearing blue jeans with the word "inmate" stenciled on the knee in orange and a blue T-shirt similarly stenciled. If anyone sees him, please do not approach as he could be armed and dangerous.

As a minimum security prison, Warner Creek Correctional Facility houses minimum-custody inmates with less than four years remaining on their sentences. It has a single perimeter fence topped with concertina wire.
The two inmates were discovered missing about 9:30 p.m. The method of escape is under investigation.
The Oregon Department of Corrections Fugitive Apprehension Unit and the Oregon State Police are investigating. Anyone with information regarding their whereabouts should contact the Oregon State Police at 1-800-452-7888, the non-emergency number of their local police department, or the Oregon Department of Corrections Fugitive Apprehension Unit at 503-945-0975.
The current population is 336 at Warner Creek, and 13,973 statewide.
