Minimum Custody Inmate Walks Away from Work Crew in Salem
Inmate Charles Best
An inmate walked away from a Mill Creek Correctional Facility minimum-custody work crew on Sunday, April 26, 2009. The work crew was working at the Oregon State Hospital, in Salem. The inmate, Charles Best, 50, was discovered missing from the work crew at approximately 12:00 p.m.
     
Best is described as a Caucasian male, 5' 07" tall, weighing 150 pounds, brown hair, and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a navy blue t-shirt and blue denim jeans, both have the word Inmate and the Department of Corrections' seal stenciled on them.
 
Best was incarcerated in November 2008 on one count of manufacturing Methamphetamine out of Marion County. His projected release date was October 21, 2012.
