GENERAL INFORMATION
This employment opportunity is with the Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC) General Services Division in the Purchasing and Contracts Unit located in Salem. This recruitment will be used to fill the current vacancy only.
Applicants will be subject to a Computerized Criminal History and Motor Vehicles Division check as well as a thorough background investigation. Adverse background information may be grounds for disqualification.

TO QUALIFY
Your PD100 application form will be reviewed to verify that you meet the qualifications stated in this section. To receive credit, your application form must clearly show that you have:
- completion of courses or training in Office Technology; OR
- one year of general clerical experience which included typing, word processing, or other generation of documents; OR
- an equivalent combination of training and experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative and technical support to the Purchasing Manager and the Purchasing/Contracts Unit which includes processing daily order requests from all institutions and programs within DOC, maintaining purchasing files and documents and providing clerical support to the Purchasing/Contracts manager and buyers. Major duties:
- Reviews purchase requests for completeness and required information to begin purchasing process. Determine purchasing staff assignment based on commodity assignments and workload requirements. Routes purchase requests for approvals and maintain status reports. Maintain and archive purchasing files within established guidelines and requirements. Provide support to purchasers and contracts officers by faxing or mailing out documents to specified vendors. Assist vendors and contractors in obtaining bid documents. Ensure that all sealed or faxed bids are maintained as confidential until bid closing date and time;
- Provide clerical and general office support to Purchasing Agents;
- Provide informaiton and assistance concerning all aspects of the procurement process to a diverse set of customers and clients;
- Perform other related activities and special projects as assigned by Purcasing Manager such as information research and clerical support ot other Purchasing staff.
