This position is with the Division of Child Support’s Program Services Section in Salem, Oregon. The Division of Child Support is dedicated to establishing paternity and child support orders, and enforcing child support obligations in cases involving families who are receiving or have received public assistance, and in certain non-assistance cases.

 

We are looking for an office specialist to contribute to our mission. In this position, you will provide outstanding customer service while accurately executing quality work products.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Compare and validate data on computerized records with other information.
  • Complete a variety of pre-formatted legal forms on a production basis. Determine proper formats and modify forms as necessary. Ensure correct grammar, spelling and case information.
  • Update and maintain various records, manuals and library materials. Perform program related data entry.
  • Receive and respond to inquiries about the Child Support Program or cases. Direct inquiries (callers or visitors) or provide information or service as appropriate. Read and sort incoming mail, process outgoing mail.

 


Qualifications Required:

Your State of Oregon PD100 application form will be reviewed to verify that you meet the minimum qualifications stated in this section. To receive credit, your application form must clearly show that you have:

  • Completion of courses or training in Office Technology; OR
  • One year of general clerical experience which included typing, word processing, or other generation of documents; OR
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience.

 

Working Conditions:

In this position, you will deal with a diverse customer base, and have occasional contact with hostile or angry persons. Work is performed in an open office environment which may require concentration while nearby coworkers are talking on the telephone, running machines, or discussing work with other employees or supervisor. You will need to be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
