Two vacant positions with the Division of Child Support in the Program Support Central Unit in Salem, which is dedicated to establishing paternity and child support orders, and enforcing child support obligations in cases involving families who are receiving or have received public assistance, and in certain non-assistance cases. This recruitment will be used to fill the current vacancies only.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Direct inquiries (callers or visitors) or provide information or service as appropriate;
  • Compare and validate data on computerized child support records with other documents, referrals or computerized case records.  Update information to maintain current and complete child support case records;
  • Receive and respond to inquiries about the Child Support Program or cases;
  • Perform program related data entry on a production basis.  Modify standardized forms as necessary for specific actions.

 

Qualifications Required:

Your PD100 application form will be reviewed to verify that you meet the qualifications stated in this section.  To receive credit, your application form must clearly show that you have:

  • Completion of courses or training in Office Technology; OR
  • One year of general clerical experience which included typing, word processing, or other generation of documents; OR
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience.

 

Working Conditions:

Open office environment with noise from ringing telephones, walk-in traffic, printers, phone conversations, and other office equipment.

Must be able to speak clearly, answer questions, elicit information, and take appropriate action.

Operates computer keyboard with repetitive and constant finger and wrist movements for long periods of time.

Must be able to read and interpret various computer program screens for long periods of time.

Must be able to work on many detailed tasks at once and cope with many interruptions, including computer downtime, as well as frequent changes in forms and procedures.
