Basic Local Budget Law Workshop 2009
This workshop will cover Oregon’s Local Budget Law, including the basic budget document, budget publication requirements, and certifying property taxes. It will cover the procedural steps necessary to adopt a lawful budget. It will also cover changes that may be made to the budget after its adoption, during the fiscal year.

The workshop is designed for the budget officers of local taxing districts who actually prepare the budget, and for budget committee and governing body members who may be new to the process. The training is broken into four phases. The first three phases cover the basics in preparing local government budgets in Oregon. The fourth phase covers changes that can occur after the budget has been adopted. Phase four will be after lunch, if you wish to attend only that portion of the workshop.

The Basic Budgeting Book was revised in 2007.

Registration and fees: Workshop is free; No registration required.

Hours: 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with lunch on your own.
