Report tax fraud
Tax fraud affects all Oregonians by decreasing the revenue that funds essential state programs and services. If you suspect fraud activity, please report it to us using our web form, or by calling (503) 945-8264.
You can contact us anonymously; however doing so may limit our ability to conduct a thorough review. While we protect the identity of fraud reporters, sometimes information is released. If you choose to provide your contact information, it can be disclosed if it’s requested through a public records request, if the case advances to tax court, or if criminal prosecution is involved.
We will review the information you provide to us and take appropriate action. Confidentiality laws prohibit us from sharing with you what steps are taken as a result of your tip.
Examples of tax fraud:

  • Fraudulent filing or non-filing of personal income, omitting income, or exaggerating expenses.
  • Employer who refuses to withhold taxes from an employee paycheck, pays “under the table”, misclassifies employees as independent contractors.
