Estuarine Monitoring Assistant
Adam DeMarzo began work with the Reserve in the fall of 2006. He assists with South Slough Reserve’s System Wide Monitoring Plan and other research when he is needed. Adam says, “I’m very fortunate to live and work on the south coast of Oregon; this is such a dynamic and unspoiled place!”
Background and Experience
Adam previously was employed as a contractor at the U.S.Environmental Protection Agency in
Newport, Oregon where he was primarily responsible for implementing the field and
l a b o r a t o r y aspects of various e s t u a r i n e r e s e a r c h projects. Adam graduated from
the University of Oregon in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in science and a minor in biology. He
also attended summer classes at the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology in Charleston, Oregon.
