Summer Camps offer four days of activities with an estuary theme.

An Educator's Workshop Focused on Place-based Learning

TIME: Saturday March 10, 2012 from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm
LOCATION: South Slough Interpretive Center,
4 miles south on Seven Devils Road, Charleston, Oregon
COST: Free

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Teachers, natural resource agency staff, home school instructors, and informal educators that work with middle and high school students in outdoor settings.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN:
* How to identify local native plants, plant ecology, and the future of Oregon's
native plants
* Introduction to the NEW curriculum: From Salmonberry to Sagebrush, Exploring
Oregon's Native Plants
* Experience many hands-on lessons designed to engage students

WHAT TO BRING:
* Appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather
* Your own beverage mug
* Your curiosity!

Friday, February 24, 2012
10 am - 3 pm

Children, 6 - 12 years old, join us for hands on fun in the estuary. Learn about wetlands by experimenting in the classroom and discovering wetlands in the field. Come dressed for the weather and ready to hike. Bring a sack lunch and water bottle.

Cost is $7/child - sign up for all four classes $20/child
