No auction in 2015
A recent decision to auction the contents of abandoned safe-deposit boxes every two years means the next public auction will be held in 2016.
“This decision allows for a much larger auction with a wider range of items than annual auctions yielded,” said Pat Tate, manager of Oregon’s unclaimed property program.
The 2016 auction will be held in the spring. More information will be sent out via email and news releases, and posted on this website. To receive an email, sign up for auction alerts.
Net proceeds from the 2014 auction in White City totaled $196,000. All monies from public auctions are held in the Common School Fund whose earnings are sent twice a year to Oregon’s 197 public school districts.
If owners come forward, they may claim the value of their property sold at auction by searching for their name on the unclaimed property database.
