UNCLAIMED PROPERTY BUSINESS SEMINARS
What do you do when checks never clear your bank account or are returned by the Post Office?

How do you handle inactive customer credit balances?

Oregon law (ORS 98.302-436 and 98.991-.992) provides a mechanism for getting these types of liability off your books while ensuring rightful owners can easily claim their money at any time in the future.

The Oregon Department of State Lands administers the state’s unclaimed property law, and is offering seminars this spring to help businesses learn about complying.

The half-day training sessions include a brief overview of unclaimed property, determining when property is reportable, actions required before reporting, due diligence and record retention. Each attendee receives a compliance handbook with information and resources to help you better understand the compliance process.

Seminars are being offered at a variety of locations around the state; the cost is $25 per attendee.

Click here  for registration details, or call 503-986-5290 (Salem) for more information about the seminars.

You must pre-register for the seminars; payment is accepted at the door.
