Economic & Community Development Commission

The 1993 Legislature entrusted the creation of economic development policies and oversight of the department to a five-member commission appointed by the governor. The bipartisan Economic and Community Development Commission was established to ensure a coherent, integrated approach to economic development and a continuous policy direction for the department that could transcend changes in executive and legislative leadership. more information



Finance Committee

The Finance Committee of the Oregon Economic & Community Development Commission provides project approval and direct oversight for three Economic & Community Development Department business finance programs. more information



International Trade Commission

The International Trade Commission, created in 1995, supports the International Trade Section in an advisory capacity. It consists of fifteen members appointed by the Governor and two legislative ex-officio members. more information



Ports Representation Group

A seven-member representation group reports to the governor, legislature and the Oregon Economic and Community Development Commission on state efforts to promote port development and maritime commerce.

Oregon Arts Commission

The Oregon Arts Commission provides leadership, funding and services to Oregon artists, art organizations, students and communities. The commission also promotes Oregon's cultural resources outside the state. After the 1993 legislative session, the Arts Commission joined the Oregon Economic and Community Development Department to strengthen the development of cultural resources in Oregon communities and to increase the role of the arts in building Oregon's economy. more information

Brand Oregon Advisory Board

Brand Oregon is the concept of creating an omnibus brand for Oregon to unify state communication and marketing efforts. The board consists of 16 members appointed by the Governor to: 1) create a set of branded messages with a unified look and feel that works for varied industries and state communications; 2) to be in charge of our own story; 3) to sell more Oregon products and create more business opportunities through branded marketing efforts; and 4) to deploy a multi-faceted, long-lasting campaign and with staying power. more information



Governor's Small Business Council

Recognizing that small business is the lifeblood of a healthy economy, Governor John Kitzhaber created the Governor's Small Business Council by executive order in 1998. The Council works with the Governor, the Oregon Economic and Community Development Department and other state agencies to develop recommendations on best practices for promoting the growth and economic vitality of Oregon's small business sector. more information

Oregon Innovation Council (Oregon InC)

Oregon InC, formerly the Council for Knowledge and Economic Development, is the cross-sector leadership team created in 2005 by the Governor and State Legislature, to drive the state's innovation strategy. Oregon InC's mission is to identify Oregon's top innovation-driven growth opportunities, maximize the state's competitive advantages and establish Oregon's niche in the global economy. more information
