State of Oregon Sustainability Awards

Governor Ted Kulongoski's Executive Order 06-02 entitled "Sustainability for the 21st Century" directs the Oregon Economic and Community Development Department (OECDD), to "coordinate the development of a Sustainability Awards Program to promote and advance the inclusion of sustainable practices in government and the private sector." Sustainable practices are broadly defined as those that strive to optimize an organization's financial, environmental and social performance.

The 1st annual Oregon Sustainability Awards event will be hosted by the Oregon Sustainability Board and the Oregon Economic and Community Development Department on June 1, 2007, in Salem (location TBD). Though the Legislature will still be in session, we hope to have Governor Kulongoski present the awards!
